EastLink returns to centre ice as platinum sponsor of EastLink CeeBee Stars
Senior Hockey Team
Newfoundland, October 25
– The EastLink CeeBee Stars Senior Men’s Hockey team returns to the ice this
weekend to drop the puck on a rejuvenated provincial Senior Men’s Hockey league.
“We are so pleased to partner with the CeeBee Stars for a second year,” says
Arthur Taylor, Regional Manager for EastLink.
“Last year was
such an exciting season. We are really looking forward to continuing our support
of senior men’s hockey in Newfoundland which also enables us to contribute to
important local charities like the St. Vincent de Paul Society among others.”
The new provincial
league consists of five teams: Clarenville Caribous, Corner Brook Royals,
Eastlink CeeBee Stars, Grand Falls Cataracts and Mount Pearl Blades.
Peter George, EastLink CeeBee Stars
Assistant Coach and Assistant Manager predicts that every
game this season will be thrilling. “We are looking forward to this new season
as fans are going to be treated to what we expect will be the best hockey ever
played in Newfoundland Senior Hockey.”
EastLink and the EastLink CeeBee
Stars have partnered with local Powell’s supermarkets to kick off the 2011-2012
season with a food drive. Proceeds will be directed to the St. Vincent de Paul
Society chapters in Carbonear and Harbour Grace and The Helping Hand in Bay
Roberts.
Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at Powell’s locations in Bay
Roberts, Carbonear and Harbour Grace or brought to any EastLink CeeBee Stars
home game throughout this season.
“We are proud to welcome EastLink back as our platinum sponsor for the 2011-2012
season,” said Tracy Shute, PR Manager for the EastLink CeeBee Stars.
"Last year, EastLink stepped up to demonstrate their commitment to help make a
positive difference in the communities they serve. This partnership is an
example of that commitment.”
As part of
EastLink’s platinum sponsorship, EastLink and EastLink CeeBee Stars will
be hosting various activities throughout the season including
·
Giveaways and contests during the home opener (with a chance to
win a DVR);
·
Fan Appreciation Nights; and the very popular
·
Hockey school for local minor hockey kids.
EastLink TV will broadcast four
EastLink CeeBee Stars home games live (Saturday nights throughout the season),
all of which will be available OnDemand.
“Senior Men’s Hockey continues to grow in popularity in Newfoundland. Last
season drew huge crowds and fan support so I can only imagine what this season
will bring with a whole new competitive level on the ice,” said Mr. Taylor.
The EastLink CeeBee Stars face off against the Clarenville
Caribous this Saturday, October 29.
